The Richard Dischler Photo Workshops is pleased to announce two of its members received the highest photographic honors at the recent San Mateo County Fair, which concluded on June 14, 2015.
- Emmanuelle Treil was awarded the 2015 San Mateo County Fair Lois Kelley Memorial/Exhibitor of the Year Award in Photography.
- David Weitz was awarded Best of Show: Black & White Photography.
This is the third consecutive year a member of the Richard Dischler Photo Workshops earned the Lois Kelley Memorial/Exhibitor of the Year Award in Photography. This prestigious award is given to the top overall exhibitor in the Visual Arts — the person who earned the most number of first, second, and third-place awards.
Workshop members represented 12% of the total number of participants in the Photography category and 42% of images entered. Workshop members garnered 57% of first place winners, 66% of second place winners, and 61% of third place in all photographic categories.
Please join Emmanuelle, David and the rest of the 2015 San Mateo County Fair award-winning photographers on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 1 to 4pm at Keeble & Shuchat Photography, 290 S. California Avenue in Palo Alto 94306.
In mid-2009, Richard Dischler launched his first Previsualization Workshop at Keeble & Shuchat Photography. Dischler aimed to help budding photographers find and hone their inner photographic vision. Since that time, many of the workshop’s photographers have been published, exhibited in galleries and museums, and captured numerous prizes – both national and international.
This exhibit includes images taken by a few of the earliest members of the Dischler workshops whose abilities have matured over the years. Their work validates the unique creative process Dischler has developed and nurtured since the launch of the workshops six year ago.
The exhibit is on display in the Keeble & Shuchat Main Gallery, June 11 through July 8, 2015.

Magical places conjure both physical locations as well as spiritual spaces. So they can be exterior and interior journeys. They offer a chance to connect with a unique place, diverse people, unusual perspectives, and different ways of going about life.
These images offer a journey into an interior landscape, made possible by our effort in navigating distant lands, meeting new peoples, enjoying exotic foods, and discovering our similarities while celebrating our differences.
On display are images from Bali, Indonesia & Oaxaca, Mexico.
We hope that these images will inspire and invite you to embark on a personal journey of exploration into your own soul and to those mystical places that resonate in your own heart.
The exhibit will be on display from June 5 to August 4, 2015 at Keeble & Shuchat Photography, 290 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA.
