Those who think a finished photograph comes straight out of the camera without processing are deluding themselves…

As Ansel Adams said: “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”

Printing any image is an art unto itself. Digital or darkroom, printing begins with precise processing to get the best photo out of the inkjet printer or the soup. Understand that this IS a processing class; it is NOT a printing class. Instruction emphasizes digital processing in Adobe Lightroom™ to prepare an image for print.

The instructor will go over the most critical Adobe Lightroom™ development panels for getting the most in contrast, saturation, vibrance, black tones, dodging and burning, and more. We will focus on the Adobe Lightroom™ tools that can help you  bridge the gap between taking a photograph and making it ready for a final print.

This is a hands-on course. So bring your laptop with Adobe Lightroom™ installed and an image or two for practice. This class is NOT for beginners. A rudimentary understanding of Adobe Lightroom™ is essential.

What you need to bring:

  • Your laptop (with Adobe Lightroom™ installed)
  • Some familiarity with Adobe Lightroom™ (this is not a class for beginners)
  • An image or two for practice
  • A sense of humor

This 2-1/2 hour class offers intensive instruction on processing your images for a final print. This is not a printing class but an advanced session in effectively and efficiently using the processing tools available in Adobe Lightroom™ as you prepare your images for printing.

Fee: $79.99 ($59.99 RDPW Members)
